If there’s one thing that I’ve always admired from most pop acts, it’s their down-to-earth realities. HiVi!, for example, managed to pull off a song like “Lihatlah Dunia”, in which the lyrics are highly motivational and positive and even bordering towards pep talk material. The second track in this video, “Mata Ke Hati”, reeks of adolescence and exaggerated emotion steeped in cliches:
“Tak pernah kurasakan cinta
Begitu hebatnya
Sebelum kukenal kamu.”
But hear me out, isn’t that what you exactly want to hear when you’re a lovestruck teenager?
HiVi!’s charming, sweet, and positive image fit the mold of what successful pop acts exuded. Just take a peek down the comment section and see fans throwing heart emojis to individual members of the band.
