A devoted Coldplay fan has been left feeling "sparks" in a "life-changing" moment after the lead singer paused the band's concert to design a tattoo for him.
Mattie Jolley, from Hertfordshire, was watching his favourite band play on 20 August, when frontman Chis Martin spotted him in the crowd.
The super fan, who has seen Coldplay perform 10 times so far, was holding a sign that read "Chris design my tattoo please" – and it wasn't long before the banner caught the star's attention.
Half-way-through one of the band's biggest hits 'Fix You', Chris made his way over to a starstruck Mattie and halted his performance to design him the "most perfect" tattoo.
"As soon as it happened, I burst into tears realising what had just happened and I was more in shock," Mattie told NeedToKnow.Online.
"He had noticed me throughout the show.
"We made a lot of eye contact, which made me feel so happy and connected to the band.
"It took a long time for it to sink in that Chris had done this for me.
"He picked me out of an 80,000-strong crowd to make my night even better, he didn’t have to do it and I am so grateful he did."
In the breathtaking video recorded by a friend, you can see Chris Martin on stage while he sings.
Moments later, the world-famous singer makes his way down to the crowd and spots Mattie.
Chris gestures to Mattie to hand him a pen and then starts to draw a design while continuing to effortlessly sing to the crowded stadium.
Viewers can hear fans rejoice for Mattie in the background.
He said: "Towards the end of the show, the band come down the stage, as they did this Chris was looking for my sign and came over, he stopped for a moment then looked at me and said 'Okay'.
"At this moment I knew it was going to happen and everyone around me was asking me about the sign.
"After four more songs the band started Fix you, Chris was kneeling on the stage, he looked for me and made a gesture to say get your pen ready.
"At the point I was in shock, I was shaking so much trying to get my pen and pad out. Then he came down the stairs of the stage, looked at me while he continued to sing Fix You, as if it was being sung to me."
This devoted fan spent a whopping £1,500 on tickets, travel and accommodation to see his favourite band.
In the past, he has even travelled overseas to see Coldplay perform in Paris.
Mattie said: "Coldplay mean the absolute world to me.
"The messages they give out, about believing in love and never giving up, have helped me to get through some tough times.
"Seeing the journey through their career has shown me to always keep positive.
"Coldplay is also more than music, it’s a family of fans across the world and as Chris says; we are 'One Big Band' Coldplay concerts are like a home for me where I can release myself and feel forever happy."
In true super fan fashion, Mattie now has plans on getting the one-of-a-kind design, tattooed on his arm.
He added: "He drew a really cool love heart, which has a cool looking infinity sign around it.
"I haven’t finalised exactly what I’m going to get, but I would like to get the drawings with the words “Never Give Up” and the Love button Logo [nonprofit organisation supported by Chris Martin]".
